I signed up here because it was an offshoot of the Gaming Passions website. Yeah, I'm a passionate video gamer. Single, independent, and a geek.
The site is suggesting I describe what I love about living in Canada. For one, it's not the United States, where grown adults are spoon-fed garbage by the media watchdog, being told what to be afraid of, being 'greenwashed' (which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but don't give me any of that Global Warming BS), and slowly signing over the very rights their forefather fought so hard for 250 years ago. (Well, not QUITE 250).
At least, not yet.
They say that when America sneezes, the world catches a cold. Undoubtedly, we in Canada are faced with a lot of adversity from our neighbours to the south simply because of how influential they are. But we're not completely like them. For the moment, the average Canadian is a sensible person who isn't as afraid of the big bad world as American's are. Canadians are people who know when to say 'enough is enough' when personal freedoms are being stripped. Canadians still know that it is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees.
That's what I love about this country.
